Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs) are a new type of Marine Protected Area. The aim of Irish Sea Conservation Zones is to engage and consult with everyone with an interest in the marine environment, from anglers and divers to commercial fishing companies, conservation groups and the commercial sector.

Creative Concern developed the brand for the Irish Sea Conservation Zone for use online, in print and on a range of exhibition and consultation materials. Our challenge was to create a friendly but authoritative brand that would represent the 'sea' without being linked to one particular species, geographical area or audiance group. The brands abstract water motif evokes rolling shoreline waves, water surface patterns and the depths of the sea. The brand includes a colour palette with a range of combinations for use across different media. Strong photography is used alongside the brand marque and typeface to represent the interests of different stakeholders.
