Mersey Tidal Power

Peel Energy, part of the Peel Holdings group, is investigating the possibility of bringing renewable energy to the River Mersey. Mersey Tidal Power (MTP) is a website to facilitate the public consultation process of the scheme, serving as a platform both to provide information and for the public to discuss the scheme directly with the project team.

Built using Drupal, the website is incredibly flexible to enable the MTP team not only to upload content of all media types, including films and imagery, but also to position that content within the page itself. This flexibility ensures that the project team is able to change the emphasis of the site as the public consultation progresses, particularly as the process targets the diverse audiences associated with the potential impacts on the river.

As part of the website build, we were also commissioned to produce a public consultation film. Starring Fred Talbot, the film was used to introduce the general public to the issues, technology, and potential impacts of any potential scheme.
