Forestry Commission

From local media campaigns to introducing communities to their new woodlands, to placing features in the environmental, regeneration and other specialist press, events, awards and competitions, we have consistently delivered high quality coverage for Newlands, which has played an integral part in the success of the programme as a whole. This coversage has included features in Regeneration and Renewal, Green Places, Sustain, Landscape magazine, Civil Engineer Surveyor, articles with the Journal of Urban Regeneration and Renewal, the Institute of Economic Development and the Landscape Institute as well as wide spread coverage in all regional, local press and broadcast media.

Highlights have included the creation of the world’s first living billboard in the Wirral, and the traveling environmental installation ‘Green Spot’, which saw a mini forest of trees with interpretation and audio, travel around the region during 2007 and 2008 (coinciding with Capital of Culture).

Creative Concern is also the retained agency for the Forestry Commission Northwest Region team. In this capacity, we have created PR strategies for the Regional Forestry Framework, launched the FormWood conference in 2008 and handled of the aftermath of the 2005 Cumbrian storms, which saw half a million trees brought down in just ten minutes.

"I have worked directly and indirectly with Creative Concern over the last eight years. In every instance I have found their approach professional and realistic. They back this up with unflagging optimism, humour and the delivery of quality work. They are also prepared to go the extra mile."
Keith Jones, Regional Director, The Forestry Commission.
