Wythenshawe: Real Lives image campaign
Established in 2008 to challenge outdated perceptions of Wythenshawe – the Real Lives campaign has recruited over seventy ambassadors. To acknowledge the great work that they do we held an event at the new Wythenshawe campus of Manchester College.
Creative Concern worked with Wythenshawe Regeneration Team to organise the event, which was chaired by ambassador John Gretton, former headmaster of St Anthony’s RC School.
Adam Mustafa, one of the campaign ambassadors who manages the Wythenshawe-based Delicious Sauce Company, explained his choice of business location. Lou Englefield of Pride Sports took the audience through the plans for the forthcoming Wythenshawe Games. Our very own Steve Connor presented the developments of Manchester International Festival’s vertical farm project, Alpha Farm, which is taking place in Wythenshawe’s Alpha House.
We also showed off our brand new ambassador film, where we interviewed current ambassadors about the impact the campaign has had on their lives.
To round off the evening, five new ambassadors were presented with their Real Lives badge. The audience was also encouraged to nominate their friends, family members, colleagues and neighbours to become future ambassadors.
