Unknown Pleasures Exhibition
On May 18th 2010, music fans across the world commemorated the thirtieth anniversary of the death of iconic Joy Division frontman, Ian Curtis. Macclesfield Silk Museum wanted to celebrate Curtis’ influence and presence in the town and decided to join with some of the biggest names in the Joy Division story to put on an exhibition in his honour.
We had the fortune of working with music writer Jon Savage, Director Anton Corbijn and legendary Factory designer Peter Saville, amongst many others, to create a brand identity for the Unknown Pleasures Festival. We used previously unseen images of Ian Curtis, designed building banners and created a brooding, atmospheric website to capture the attention of fans.
