Warhol & The Diva
Creative Concern was appointed to produce the marketing identity and materials for the exhibition Warhol and the Diva at Salford’s The Lowry. We wanted to reflect the nature of the exhibition, which centres on Warhol’s obsession with fame and glamour and the performers he painted. The exhibition also looks at Warhol’s persona and his self-portraits – Warhol being the biggest Diva of all.
The aim was to select a single, powerful image to reflect Warhol as a brand.
The design team also focused on the typeface to illustrate the glamour and celebrity of the exhibition. They referenced the processes Warhol used and created the logo by drawing it by hand and then re-scanning the image.
The identity has been used on national print and online advertising, exterior and interior banners, posters, printed materials and for the website.
