Irish Sea Conservation Zones

Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs) are a new type of Marine Protected Area. The aim of Irish Sea Conservation Zones is to engage and consult with everyone with an interest in the marine environment, from anglers and divers to commercial fishing companies, conservation groups and the commercial sector. The website is a critical tool to keep these key audiences informed, updated and engaged with the work of the Irish Sea Conservation Zones project.

The challenge was to work within a tight budget and create a flexible website that could evolve over time, driven by a full content management system. The solution is a website developed using Drupal, the leading open source content management system. Our design and programming team ensured the site reflected the strong brand design, also developed by Creative Concern. The result is a well structured website that has become a vital part of the team's communications and PR drive, containing news, events and project updates. Site traffic continues to increase month by month boosted by e-newsletters driving additional content to www.irishseaconservation.org.uk
